New pro­gramme part­ners (NGOs, reli­gious insti­tu­tions or Cred­it & Sav­ings Coop­er­a­tive Soci­eties) have to meet the fol­low­ing criteria:

• Insti­tu­tions of good repute that are specif­i­cal­ly inter­est­ed in fight­ing pover­ty by sup­port­ing income and pro­mot­ing women
• Hav­ing been reg­is­tered and oper­at­ing in their coun­try for at least five years
• Legal form suit­able for micro-financing
• Good infra­struc­ture and offices avail­able includ­ing well-func­tion­ing admin­is­tra­tion and accounting
• Good finan­cial skills of the institution’s Board of Directors
• Activ­i­ties in poor and under­de­vel­oped rur­al areas
• Net­work­ing with vil­lage com­mu­ni­ties on grass-root level
• Expe­ri­ence in adult education
