At Swisshand, we believe that the most powerful way to fight poverty is to unlock human potential. Our programs combine hands-on business training, personalized guidance, and microcredits to help proactive women in remote, rural African regions launch their own micro-enterprises. In doing so, we empower them to create sustainable livelihoods, support their families, and serve as role models in their communities.

Our Strategy: Lasting Change Through Local Empowerment

We focus our efforts where they are needed most: in underprivileged communities with little or no access to self-help programs. Our approach is:

  • Efficient & Sustainable: High repayment rates (95%) mean funds can be reused multiple times, multiplying your impact.

  • Locally Rooted: Our programs are run in close collaboration with trustworthy local partners who know the culture, the context, and the needs of our clients.

  • Continuously Monitored: From partner selection to program execution, every step is guided by transparent, standardized processes to ensure accountability and results — including quarterly reporting.

Swisshand does not rely on government institutions. Instead, we partner with locally experienced, values-aligned organizations to deliver programs on the ground. Our Swiss and in-country managers monitor progress closely, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and in line with our mission.
