Wealth is not at anyone’s disposal, it must be accumulated”, Mahatma Gandhi’s words have sculpted Swisshand’s creed.

The Swisshand programmes firmly consist of training, consulting, credit lending, and accompaniment through the stages of a business. The beneficiaries are predominantly women, more often single mothers. Following the successful completion of a comprehensive entrepreneurial training and the formulation of a personal business plan, a microcredit is granted for the establishment or development of their own business. And such makes dreams come true: they are able to secure a future for themselves and their children.

Swisshand undertook such small-scale programmes in 80–120 developing regions, with the aim of battling widespread poverty.

10–20 self-sufficient programs are discharged into independence yearly. On a similar scale, additional programmes located in new areas, worth between 220’000- to 350’000 CHF, are being initiated.
